Elementary school sample curriculum for schools with Hungarian language of instruction
To mr. Ruslan Hurak,
director of the State Education Quality Assurance Office
copy to: Liliya Hrynevych
Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine
Dear mr. Ruslan Hurak!
During the meeting between the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and
Science and the Transcarpathian Hungarian organizations and communities, the
curriculum used in the elementary schools/classes with Hungarian language of
instruction was one of the items on the agenda
According to the common opinion of the Hungarian organizations, in the
„Language and Literature” curriculum used in elementary schools/classes in
Hungarian, it is necessary to clearly distinguish the classes in the state language
and literature, Hungarian language and literature and foreign language, because
for students of Hungarian nationality, Hungarian is the native language, not a
foreign language.
In addition, these three subjects should be clearly separated from one
another in the school work plans drawn up on the basis of the sample curricula
to make the structure and implementation of the language and literature
component of the educational process clear to the parents and teachers.
Hungarian organizations and companies in Transcarpathia apply for the
approval and publication of the sample curriculum given below for the
elementary classes of Hungarian schools.
